New Season, New Appetizer Menu at Bricco

Anyone who knows us knows our menu is constantly changing and adapting to the seasons. With summer in full swing in Southcentral Pennsylvania, we’ve taken full advantage of the bounty of fresh, local produce and meats available from local farmers and farmers’ markets.

Appetizers can set the tone for the entire meal. That’s why, at Bricco, we love taking things to the next level and setting the bar high for the courses to come. Our staff has been hard at work coming up with unique flavor combinations that you’re sure to enjoy alongside our tried-and-true favorites like the Suzy Salad.

Here’s just a taste of what you’ll find on our new Summer 2016 menu.

Bricco Meatballs. At Bricco, we know a thing or two about Italian food. Our unique take on classic meatballs includes a phenomenal Prosecco tomato sauce and baked Parmesan for a flavor combination that’s head and shoulders above the rest! One taste and you’ll instantly be transported back to your grandma’s kitchen. Bello!

Zucchini Blossom, Lobster Salad & Lemon Verbena Pesto. We love a new take on summer salads. This appetizer is fresh, light and fun and uses locally sourced zucchini and basil in an unexpected way. And the simple but delicious lobster salad really lets the sweet lobster meat shine. It’s been an instant hit with our diners.

Baby Spinach, Compressed Watermelon, Red Onion with an Asiago Crisp and Lemon Poppyseed Dressing. Speaking of salads, we’ve introduced a new option if you’d like to see a little more green on your plate. This salad comes on a bed of fresh spinach, but adds some sweetness with chunks of everyone’s summer favorite treat: watermelon. Red onion and a housemade dressing balance out the flavors. Topped with a tasty Asiago crisp, this appetizer is so good that you’ll forget you’re eating something that’s actually good for you!

Grilled Octopus with Warm Chickpeas, Crispy Speck Alto Adige & Lime. Adventurous eaters will love the addition of octopus to our menu. Normally served deep-fried, grilling octopus really brings its flavor to the forefront. The addition of chickpeas, lime and a dry-cured, lightly smoked ham is a surprising twist that really makes this appetizer shine.

Baked Caciocavallo with Rosemary & Toasted Focaccia. Some appetizers are meant for sharing with the table. Caciocavallo is a stretched curd cheese, and, when baked, it makes an ooey gooey dip that begs to be scooped up with toasted focaccia—or the nearest spoon. This hearty appetizer is downright heavenly!
