No Tricks, Just Treats on Our Dessert Menu
Halloween is a magical time for youngsters who get to dress up as their favorite characters and go door-to-door gathering treats. But for anyone with a sweet tooth, Halloween can be pure torture for both your teeth and waistline with snack-size candy at every turn.
Instead of gorging yourself on your kiddo’s candy haul once a year and regretting it for the entire month of November, treat yourself to your own delectable desserts the next time you dine out with us. Here are just a few of our favorite adult takes on trick-or-treat goodies.
We get it, cherry-flavored licorice is addicting. In fact, we could eat a whole bag if you let us. But what if we told you there’s a way to get that sweet cherry flavor without downing an entire bag of licorice? Our Vanilla Panna Cotta has a tangy red wine gelee, crisp cornmeal biscotti and a deliciously rich port cherry compote that will satisfy your sweet, fruity craving. The only downside is that it’s not quite portable enough to sneak into the movie theater in your purse.
Move Over, Reese’s Cups
For some reason, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups just seem to taste better when they’re in seasonal shapes, whether it’s the egg for Easter or the tree for Christmas. But the Halloween pumpkin is by far our favorite with the perfect mix of peanut butter and chocolate. We think the only thing better is our decadent Peanut Butter Truffle. Served with Biscotti, Cannoli and Chocolate Caramel Custard for just $8, we can’t think of a better way to end a meal.
In the fall, everything seems to be covered in a thick layer of melted caramel from apples to lollipops to popcorn. As kids, we loved finding tiny caramel squares and Bull’s Eye Caramel Creams in the bottom of our bags on Halloween night.
As adults, we love caramel just as much. That’s why our Pizza Fritta features caramel as one of its main ingredients. The fried pizza dough is sweet, sugary and topped with delicious bananas foster gelato. Our chefs hit the ball out of the park with this one — if we do say so ourselves!
Orange You Glad?
Was anyone else addicted to those little orange wedge slices covered in sugar as a kid? They were so much better than the real orange slices we got after soccer games.
To this day, we’re still suckers for sugared-up orange flavors. That’s why we love the addition of orange mascarpone to our classic Tiramisu recipe, which is complete with housemade amaretti and brandy. It’s the perfect way to top off a big Italian meal.
